Portfolio Price Update

I'm a month behind here, having bitten off more than I can chew in my real life. Catching up now though, slowly but surely. I do have a few real losers in my portfolio, but the market is pricing some of the other ones so high it's making up for the also-rans right now.

My portfolio currently costs $57,376.97. I paid (minus fees) $50,015.44 for it and this is an increase of $7,361.53 or 14.72% to date. Since the start, index changes are:

  • Dow: 11,278.7695 -> 12,582.59: up 11.6%.
  • S&P 500: 1,309.93 -> 1,431.90: up 9.3%.
  • NASDAQ composite: 2,370.8799 -> 2,497.78: up 5.4%.

In a change from the November posting, my portfolio has leapfrogged both the S&P and the Dow and at this precise moment looks like a winner. I must say that slumping commodities prices aren't doing any favours to my resource stocks. However, the two worst performers, Sigmatel and CallWave (which have declined, respectively, 54% and 40% from their purchase prices) are telecommuications/technology companies at least one of which had all sorts of warning signs shouting do not buy me at this price!!
